Gophers offseason turmoil

Gopher fans have no reason to celebrate this offseason.

First off, Schroeder left, which no one was surprised about. In fact, I think it was surprising he came back for another season at all. But regardless. Then, there was the Kangas "twittergate" issue. For those of you who don't know what was going on, someone created a fake twitter account using Alex Kangas and was saying things like "I'm leaving". Kangas, to do damage control, went onto Gophers Puck Live fan forum to clear his name. THEN there was the news that a Gopher defenseman was going to be suspended for marijuana possession. Turns out it was Josh Birkholz, who then decided to turn pro, heading to Everett, Washington, and the WHL. THEN the rumor that Leddy was leaving was confirmed, as the Blackhawks made the decision to bring him in early.

Top it off with Hill staying, much to the chagrin of Gopher fans everywhere, and the fact they had to bring in Max Gardiner early, and you're looking at a Gophers team that is in turmoil.

Yet I still think they are a middle of the pack team.

Thoughts?

Offseason excitement

I feel the need to update my blog...since I have that kind of time...also, the Sioux have landed a new recruit.

Rocco Grimaldi, a prized recruit from California has committed to the University of North Dakota. He'll be a Fighting Sioux come 2011. His other choices were Notre Dame and Denver.

I'm always glad when a recruit picks UND over Denver (fuck you, Lee).
