Unreal

From the Schloss blog, it appears the WCHA is going to suspend baby baby Lammy for Friday night's game against Duluth. Why this is, I'm assuming, is because of his role in a "fight" against Aaron Marvin. Marvin has not been suspended by the WCHA. UND is appealing this and should hear back today, but my guess is Mario will be out of the lineup on Friday.

Ridiculous, isn't it?

Rules are rules I guess (when the league refs actually enforce them that is). Once the gloves come off intentionally you get a game. Given the circumstances trying to stick up for what happened to Genoway it sucks but you know they won't let something like this slide.

And that's fine FHG26,

But Marvin took his gloves willing at the exact same time. How is he not suspended?

the fact that Marvin did not garner a suspension makes me laugh. I mean, he also took off his gloves willingly and was itching to fight as well.

Thats true. Well would you expect anything different from the league officials then to miss stuff like this?

Any word if they are looking at giving Hepp any kind of suspension for leaving the bench?

Never mind my last comment, just saw on Schlossmans blog that Hepp has been suspended as well.

yep, Mario and Hepp were suspended while Marvin was not. The WCHA is a disgrace. They don't suspend Gwozdecky for delaying a game and walking across the ice, they don't suspend Marvin for possibly destroying a player's life, and now they don't suspend Marvin for fighting (kind of). What a joke.

Hate to change the subject but what exactly was Gwoz arguing about in that game? If it was a legit complaint he had I honestly don't have a problem with him getting on the ice and calling out the officials for a bad call, because thats what needs to start being done apparently with all these HORRIBLE calls the officials have been making the last few YEARS now.

I don't have a problem with Gwoz walking on ice. In that case I believe kicking him out of that game and maybe a public repimand or warning would be enough.

The part about that night that was bad was that he blatantly broke rules by communicating with the bench after he had been ejected.

Marvin was suspended for the hit on Genoway.
"As a result, Hepp will miss Friday's game at Wisconsin. Junior Brett Barta is expected to play instead. The Huskies were en route to Madison, Wis., on Thursday and SCSU coach Bob Motzko did not return a phone message. This is the second league action against St. Cloud State in three weeks and the third of the season. Motzko received a league reprimand for his actions toward an official following a 6-4 loss Jan. 30 at Colorado College. And Aaron Marvin was suspended one game for a Nov. 13 hit from behind on Sioux captain Chay Genoway that ignited the situation that resurfaced Saturday."
